LEADING EDGE ART WORKSHOP:
APRIL 20, 21 AND 22. FEATURING JEAN PEDERSON
Jean Pederson, AWS, CSWC, SFCA, ASA is the author of the popular book
“Expressive Faces: Creative Methods for Painting People”
and she is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society,
Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour, the Federation of Canadian
Artists, and the Alberta Society of Artists. She has achieved international
acclaim in recent years and she is a regular contributor to the Artist’s
Magazine. Jean shows her work regularly at the Alicat Gallery in Bragg
Creek.

LIMITLESS LAYERING WITH WATERMEDIA is for experienced beginners
to advanced artists, and will open the door into the exploration of
various combinations of acrylic mixed with other media with an emphasis
on water soluble paints and mediums. The focus of this workshop is
to explore watermedia: everything from watercolor to gouache, gesso,
acrylics, inks, mark making tools, collage and more. These techniques
will be applied to a variety of subject matter of our choice from
realistic to abstract. It will include lessons on transparency of
mediums, viscosity, texture and surface quality—rough, smooth,
shiny, matte---and using acrylic mediums, to create our own unique
artistic statement. Emphasis on design, personal style, class work.
Includes demos, lectures, critiques, individual assistance with Jean,
lots of resource material.
Fee: $345.00 (after March 20 ...$355)

- Friday 9-3, and the Wednesday and Friday groups often start
to meet earlier (10 or 11 a.m.). A new organized unofficial drop-in
will be starting on Wednesday mornings 9:30-noon.

Roy Fijal, our founding director,
completed the DVD “Portraiture” shortly before his passing
away several years ago. Local Colour Art Group Inc, has the pleasure
of distribution and sales of the DVD. As members you will also be
able to purchase your own copy at a rate of $20. Contact the Executive
to purchase your copy.
