* Purpose

The purpose of Local Colour Art Group is to provide a meeting place for artists to progress, share, and practice their personal ability of fine arts.

* Club Availability

Local Colour Art Group has access to the facility at 180 Poplar Avenue (@ Brazier) on select days of the week. Please link here for a list. The club will be closed on official holidays.

* Workshops

We have various demonstrations and workshops throughout the year - occasionally on Saturdays as well, which explore different techniques and mediums for painting. Please see the "workshop listing" in our newsletter for a list of dates and topics. There is sometimes a fee for these workshops, to help cover the cost of hiring guest artists. We're always looking for new ideas for workshops / guest artists - bring your ideas to the Executive.

* Business meetings

Business meetings are held occasionally throughout the year to discuss use of finances, plan art shows and update members on availability of workshops, etc. The Annual General Meeting is held in Spring of each year. Please check the Club News page for more details.

* Membership Fee

The annual membership fee for Local Colour Art Group is $50.00. This includes the $30 group fee and the $20 Elmwood / East Kildonan Centre facility use fee. Dues must be paid by September 30 of each year. To keep costs down, members are strongly encouraged to volunteer for various committees throughout the year, such as show set-up and take down, key holders (to open the building), workshop organization and more.

* Facility

The facility has tables in a large well lit room for painting and a wood working shop.
