Born
in Dallas, Texas, and a Canadian citizen since 1979, Carol Harrison
draws from her years of experience in both the USA and Canada for
her art. She studied Art at Baylor University in Texas, Education
at the University of North Carolina, and she received her Bachelor
of Arts Degree from Meredith College in North Carolina with a major
in art. She has studied painting and drawing at the Dallas Museum
of Fine Art and the Winnipeg Art Gallery and has taken numerous pottery
workshops locally.
Carol
is a career artist and teacher, having taught art in public schools
for many years. She now conducts workshops in a variety of media including
drawing and painting. Carol is a member of the Manitoba Society of
Artists, the Local Colour Art Group, the Selkirk Community Arts Centre,
and the Potters’ Council of the American Ceramic Society. She
has had solo exhibitions in Raleigh, North Carolina and Madison, Wisconsin,
and at West St. Paul School in Winnipeg. Her work has been selected
for juried shows in Manitoba, and her paintings and pottery are owned
by private collectors across North America.
